I love this book. This is the second one I've had (this is to replace the other well-read book, which I cannot find). One thing I was impressed with is that the author was in his nineties when I first bought the book, and was still giving lectures. To me, if the person preaching health is healthy, that's the best sign that he has something worth saying.The book talks about bowel cleansing. I followed one of his cleanses as best I could (I couldn't buy all the supplements he recommended), and it was the best juice fast I'd been on. I was never hungry, except for one time when I was unable to keep to the schedule.
I brought this book by Dr. Jensen, and followed the steps on the tissue cleanse step by step, it was one of the most challenging things I have ever done! The first few days were a piece of cake, I was feeling amazing! It was the last few days that "Things" started becoming very challenging, and I started wondering if I should have ever started this in the first place! But in the end I was very grateful that I did! Perhaps not a book everyone can read but if one could uncap one's brain and pour the knowledge in Dr. Jensen's publications into their "think tank" we would all be benefitted from "HEAD TO TOE." In deed a book I wish all gastroenterologists and rheumatologists would integrate into their professional repertoire.Dr. Jensen takes one beyond the treatment of only symptoms. Rare if one can adhere to a healthy diet but just to have some knowledge of why we suffer so "unnecessarily" gives one some leverage to make make an improvement. Dr. Jensen addresses diet but also emphasizes his understanding of the very real importance of striving for emotional equilibrium, "healthy" moods, attitudes and as Avatar Meher Baba has stated, learning constructive ways of ' how to worry about how not to worry!' Bon Appetite!!!
People don't take their poor bowel health seriously. Doctors have been poo-pooing (pun intended) nutrition and colon health since the dawn of allopathic medicine. Poor absorption and illness results. Fasting, the use of Bentonite clay (Sommes), careful colonics and a reintroduction of a diet rich in woody fiber will help shear the gunk from your bowel wall. Autopsies have proven that most people are carrying around an extra 10+ pounds of putrefied fecal matter in their bowels. I recommend Dr. Jensen's method for anyone who is suffering from poorly diagnosed illnesses which modern medicine is not healing, autoimmune issues especially. His work is tantamount and a landmark for the Common Sense required for good health.
