We finally have the development of many of the supporting characters as well as the development of the training, but the flashback is at a strange point that is actually a bit confusing in terms of the narrative thrust. Levi being introduced is felt in a profound way. One thing that is really hit on though is that the characters are children and the armies are largely made of militarized teens in a way that doesn't even really make sense in the terms of the dystopia Hajime Isayama is developing. I will say that the figure design is limited where it is hard to tell characters apart, particularly male characters.
Volume 4 wraps the battle up nicely while also providing an interesting flashback to their first days of training together. It really helps drive the point that loses happen to everyone but in order to survive, You have to make sacrifices.
Overpriced comic book imo, but my kid loves this series
I never liked manga or any anime. I've never seen or read one in my entire life.Attack on Titan blew my mind, however. Hands down the best entertainment I've ever seen in the last three years (I'm comparing this to all the other TV series, novels, movies I've seen). A solid 5/5. I wholeheartedly recommend this title to anyone.
As expected
I am very biased when it comes to Attack on Titan but I really do think this is a great series and it really manages to keep you on the edge about what is going to happen next! This volume was no different. Recommend!
This volume I would summarize as a flashback volume. We see the gap sealed and then go into the flashbacks. While we get to see their training, I would say parts of it was unnecessary. Yes, it does help with character development, but some parts just seemed to be dragged out. It still is a great read like the previous volumes though.
This is another great volume of AOT. We get the finale of this arc and we are introduced to a flashback of the trainee's training. We are introduced to two new characters Captain Levi and Commander Erwin. This volume was full of suprises and lots of action, so you will enjoy that.Story: The story is definitely getting better. I believe the story was a lot more positive this time then it usually is. Don't get me wrong their is some nasty stuff in this volume, but I think more good things happen then bad things. The end of volume gave a really big cliffhanger, so I am excited for the next one. 4/4Character development: There is plenty of character development this time. We are introduced to a flashback of how the trainee's trained and prepared against the titans. We are also introduced to my favorite character in the series Captain Levi. He has awesome introduction to the series. 3/3.Artwork: The artwork is splendid and I can't complain. 3/3Overall, this was another great volume of AOT and expect them to keep coming. I am curious about what is to come next, and I wonder who is the main antagonist of this manga and when he/she/it will be introduced. Of course the titans are major bad guys, but you always got a main antagonist so who will it be?10/10
