As an optometrist of 36 years who has been working in the area of Sports Vision Training for nearly ten years, I knew I had to get a copy of this immediately upon seeing it. When it arrived, the first thing I noted was that it's not a very long book; but it touches on some of the key areas that will affect shooters (dominant eye, fixation, coordination) as well as giving some good, basic examples of exercises to train these areas.The book is succinct, without delving deeply into theory and background (it's been my experience that military personnel excel at communicating efficiently), and for those that are looking for some good ways of tuning up their visual systems for shooting will find some good, concrete information.One caveat: during the book, the author mentions videos that demonstrate the exercises; but the links to the videos aren't given in the hardcopy edition. I contacted the author directly, and he said that hyperlinks are given in the electronic version. And while I haven't researched this yet, it could be fairly easy to find the videos on his site. Perhaps a subsequent volume of the printed version will include the links. If possible, the lack of links might have cost half a star, but the rest of the book is definitely worth the five stars!Overall, a great introduction to the benefits of Sports Vision Training and how it can help shooters of all disciplines.
Having been a street cop for 25 years, 8 of them on a SWAT team, I can only say that I wish this book was available back then. There is so much in this book that I never knew about and was never exposed to. But not only does this book demonstrate what our individual weaknesses are through exercises, it tells you how to correct the problems you never knew you had. I'm a prepper and using this information personally and passing it on to my team will increase our effectiveness. If I could only save only 10 books in my library from a fire this would be one of them.
Well executed source of testing and training information for anyone looking to improve their visual skills (simple and complex). The book is clear and concise which allows for easy reading. In addition the trainings include lots illustrations which really help me as a visual learner. Wes provides specific tools to enhance your vision in the effort of making you more aware and more effective in any environment. Overall, this book is an great resource and I look forward to applying the lessons and information into my training and that of my soldiers.
I liked this book because it explains the difference between vision and eyesight and because it is understandable. Some very inexpensive training methods are clearly presented.

This book is fantastic! Obviously one knows how important eyesight and vision both are for target shooting, combat shooting, are any use of a firearm. I knew how to find my eye dominance and heard about keeping both eyes open during shooting but have always had problems with that. This book is very informative on training your vision and training your eyes to act in sync with each other instead of simply closing the weaker eye. Great read and highly recommend.
First off as a college student, right now I simply don't have the money to put the time in at the range that I would like. I found this book great because it gives me some tools to improve without necessarily having to put rounds/money down range. A lot of the eye exercises and tips can be performed in my own apartment or added in to my normal training.
